The practice is led by Rob Newman, supported by Mandy. With extensive experience advising SMEs and owner-managers, Rob has built a strong reputation for his direct, no-nonsense approach to complex business problems.
Rob’s core expertise lies in seeing the underlying mechanics of a situation. Whether it is identifying where the real behavioral risk sits during a tax investigation, understanding the human elements driving a boardroom dispute, or structuring a business exit that actually works in reality, his focus is always on the practical outcome.

Rob Newman
Founder & Managing Partner
Rob is the founder of CCM Consulting Ltd and has been the Managing Partner of Carter Collins & Myer since 1999. With over 30 years of experience, he specialises in complex, uncertain, and contested financial situations within owner-managed businesses across the North West.
His approach focuses on uncovering the true financial reality of a situation and applying appropriate structure to produce clear, defensible positions for negotiations or formal proceedings.

Professional Background
Rob has extensive experience in formal dispute contexts, including acting in formal proceedings before the Chancery Division and preparing independent financial analysis to resolve matters prior to court.
He began his career in practice at Royce Peeling Green before joining KPMG within their audit division. He later specialised in recovery, financial analysis, and transaction reviews for large commercial organisations with Cotiviti, before building Carter Collins & Myer into an established regional practice. He regularly works as an independent financial expert alongside solicitors, insolvency practitioners, and other professional advisers.
Mandy Coombes
Senior Associate
Mandy is a Senior Associate at Carter Collins & Myer and has worked alongside Rob since 2012. She has over 30 years of experience in accountancy practice, specialising in financial reporting, tax compliance, and HMRC matters for owner-managed businesses.
Her core strength lies in her detailed financial understanding and her ability to work through incomplete or inconsistent information to arrive at clear, reliable figures.

Mandy’s career spans technical roles at a number of regional accounting firms. Through this practice background, she developed deep expertise in accounts preparation, VAT, personal tax planning, and compliance frameworks.
Her meticulous approach to data reconstruction forms a core part of CCM Consulting’s ability to deliver structured, accurate, and legally defensible financial analysis. Mandy is a Fellow Financial Accountant (FFA) and a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT).
